Meeting in Frankfurt

Hey folks, its me Chris (Kaltlicht) with my frist blog from China.

I`m sitting here in the Hotel Room 542 now at 4.15 am and  eating some really nice 5- minute terrine from the Lounge, but it was a long way to go before.  If ure intrested, I wanna tell u more..

Dennis (DennisN) and I met each other at the railway station in Frankfurt Main (Germany) at 10.48 am on the 23th of Mai, cause we booked the Frankfurt Main - Beijing flight for 14.50 pm the same day and as usual for international flights, we had to be there 2 hours before. So we ate some and went to the suburban train, cause we wanted to be safe.

Well, easier said as it was done..

We bought tickets and went to the rails and took a look on the plan and saw our suburban train arriving on 12.00, which was pretty ok since the trip just takes 15 minutes to the airport, but also the last save train to be ready at 12.50 (2 hours before start). Well it was 11.53, as a train arrived and standed still at the rails, so we werent sure about, if its our`s or not, so I took a look at the number and Dennis watched out the plan once again and after we were sure that it was the wrong one, cause the number wasnt correct and he was 7 minutes early. So we sitted down and waited some time until 11.59 or sth. when Dennis asked me again if its maz the right one, but I denied cause it just was impossible to be.

Well.. I think u will know how the story ends ?

Ye, absolutaly correct. IT WAS our trian and so we had to took a 25 euro expensive taxi to the airport and bought tickets for another 8 euro.

So far so bad.

So we checked in and waited some time until we was allowed to go on board and nothig special bad happened.

Ah wait.. Our Notebook crashed! As we stayed at the airport we wanted to watch some, so I turned on the Notebook.. or at least I tried too, cause nothing happened. So I thought that the battery may is down, but they wasnt.. So we leaved our Notebook in Frankfurt Main in a safe and flew without the Notebook, which was needed to make some coverage.

U`ll may asking ureself now from what I`m writing. Well I will tell u later!

Arrival in Beijing

So after a 9 hours trip we arrived at Beijing and it was really great to see those Skyline from above. I was totally impressed how extensive Beijing was cause I never saw such a huge citz before in my life. Whatever, we landed without any problems and had to fill in a sheet for the arrival in China cause it was typical for international arrivals.

They asked for names, rest in China, destination and so on and also for some symptomes like headache and so on and I had a bit a runny nose so I marked it on the sheet.

WOU DONT DO THAT REALLY. IM SERIOUS! DONT DO IT.

Well I did and at the airport a doctor and 5 other persons analyzed me for kinda 2 hours or sth. They checked my temperature like 6 or 7 times and were sure that 37 degree is too high …

So I had to make some other test and after 2 and a half hours they let me go out.

Well it seems that chinese people are constantly undercooled.

However we got our baggage another 30 minutes later and we planed to went to the hotel to took bit a rest of the day.

As I checked after.. they stole my mobile phone and the sunglasses during my check outs..

Next problems comes.

We didnt had the full adress, cause we were sure that we got the shuttle bus from the ESL crew. Jesus Christ, how naive someone can be ?

So we tried to explain how to bring us to the Hotel, but it didnt worked out very well cause no one here speaks english. But fortunatly we reached ESL.Happy and he gave us the number of the hotel so the taxi driver just asked them how to drive and we made it through the hotel.

First good news for the day: Driving taxi in China is kindly cheap, we payed around 12 euro for nearly 30 minutes.

So we met the ESL guys at the hotel and decided to take showers and rest for a time since Shy and FoCus didnt arrived at that time.

Being in Beijing

So after a 1 hour planed, and 4 hours taking rest, we left the hotel to drive to the central of Beijing, just to get some impressions and to search for an internet Cafe, cause we really were in need of a Notebook, and we wanted to try to rent one in Beijing (ye, a tricky task, I will come back to that soon).

So After the Taxi driver moved us to the City we scouted a bit around and it was really nice there. We saw some temples a museum and than we found the shopping passages and it was a bit confussing cause one passage was totally overfilled and the other was totally empty. in one passage there were shop by shop by shop by.. u know and others were completaly empty. The flats werent hired, it was like in a ghost city, the only shop on the main passage was a H&M for women and one for the men behind.

After we walked a bit around we found a internet Cafe and played a bit CS 1.6, really dont know why, but it was fun, and we found a adress for Notebook rentals, so we decided to visit them at the next day (today).

Well than we wrote some small things on the page and walked around until it went evening, than we moved back to the hotel and talked a bit with Shy and FoCuS about the Finals and some other things and went to bed at 23.3o or sth. cause we wanted to wake up  pretty early to get the Notebook, cause we really wanted to make some Coverage for u guys.
